MEMBERS MEETING:

We will be having a members meeting at our April 29th show at lunchtime. Please plan to come out and participate in both the show and in the members meeting. We will be voting on some changes in the bylaws affecting the length of term and number of the Board of Directors, as well as location of our shows. You will have the opportunity to see the bylaws as well as a copy of our new Articles of Incorporation. We will also be updating our current member list. You must reapply for membership in Redwood Riders, District 9.

MAILING LIST: - GOING TO EMAIL ALERTS
Redwood Riders are going High Tech! In order to cut down on mailing costs, we will be going to email broadcasts to alert you of upcoming shows and special events. While we have many of your email addresses, there are a lot missing. For those of you already on the e-mailing list, you’ve already seen broadcasts coming from crills@cruzers.com. As our website becomes more and more proficient, the emails will come from there. If you’ve never received an email from crills@cruzers.com, please email immediately and tell us your email so you won’t miss any news - make sure you add crills@cruzers.com to your "safe" list so we don’t get caught in your spam filter. If you don’t have email, we will continue to mail you information. BUT, you must contact us to let us know you need to continue to receive this information via "snail mail." YEAR END AWARDS - Redwood Riders
Now is the time to start thinking (and actually doing it) about signing up for Redwood Riders’ Year End Awards. Year end awards are based on point accumulation as well as participation at District 9 shows for the current season. Fees for this program are only $20. Last chance to sign up will be at the July show. You can sign up at the shows or go to our website to find the form.

NEW VENUES
As well as running at Eddy Ranch in Boulder Creek, we have connected with Coast Stables in Santa Cruz and are looking forward to running a few shows down there this year. They have a large sand arena and plenty of parking. Overnight camping should be available for our Buckle High Point, two-day show in August, as well as camping at Wilder Park, just down the street.
In June, we will run a two-day show at Graham Hill Showgrounds between Scotts Valley and Felton on Graham Hill Road. This is a great facilitiy with accomodations for overnight camping as well. For SCCHA members , camping is free. For all others, $5/person/night and $10/horse per night.

STATE CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW AND NORTHERN CLASSIC AT HOLLISTER
Northern Classic: (May 26-28) It isn’t often that Northern Classic runs this close to home. This state-sponsored show runs over Memorial Day weekend and offers a great chance to get away for the weekend - close to home! It’s very exciting, but not overwhelming. Please join several of us from District 9 and attend this fun show. (Entry forms available on the CGA website: calgymkhana.com)
State Show: (July 29-Aug 3) We would love to get a group of riders from District 9 attending the State Show this year. All divisions in pony and horse (except FC Pony) are offered at the State Show and it is a week of horsey-filled fun. Bolado Park in Hollister is an excellent place to camp, whether you rough it in a tent or bring your house on wheels (your RV). District 9 will be running the Speedball event with District 7 on Monday, July 30th and we need workers. So, if you can just come for a day, make it that Monday.
