Good Spring to you all!
District 9 has had lots of fun this winter visiting other local districts.
In February, some District 9 members traveled to Livermore and participated
at District 6. It was a blast to meet new people and see old
friends from State. A few of us made it down to District 1 at Roger and
Phyllis' house in March. What a great time and fun people. Then, the week after that,
we visited District 8 at their Royal Oaks venue. That was a lot
of fun, too, and we saw many friends from last year.
Now its our turn! With the weather improving in the mountains and the grass
growing like crazy, we'll be starting our show season at the end of April
with our first show at Eddy Ranch on April 29th! This will be our first show
with the new board and we are looking forward to a great season.
April 29th, at Eddy Ranch in Boulder Creek, will be our "Flag Show". In
order to get more people riding in Figure 8 Flags, we are giving away a
CGA-sanctioned flag to each and every contestant! Ride the event and get a
flag to practice with at home! We will also have flags available for
purchase throughout the year.
And because of our late spring start, we'll have another show soon after the first on May 12th at
one of our new venues - Coast Road Stables in Santa Cruz. Just outside the
city proper, this coastal arena promises great things this year. Hopefully,
we'll gain some new riders as well as renew acquaintances from last year.
Don't forget to layer your clothes for this show as the weather in Santa
Cruz is unpredictable this time of year - we may be in the fog or it may be
80 degrees!!!
Plan now for our June 16&17 two-day at Graham Hill Showgrounds just outside
of Santa Cruz. Celebrate the end of school! This is a great opportunity for
out-of-towners to visit District 9. Graham Hill has some great horse camping
as well as being just five minutes from the boardwalk! Ride all day - play
all night!
Our new website (www.cgadistrict9.com) has all the information on our shows.
Please confirm the shows on the website or checking with one of our board
members. Spring weather is always a little "iffy" up here!
On a last note, District 9 is going to e-notification. In order to save
money, we'll be sending out our show notices and district 9 information via
email instead of the postal service. For those of you already on the e-mail
list, you've already received emails from crills@cruzers.com. If you've
never gotten an email from District 9, please get in touch with us at the
above email address and ask to be added. Make sure you put us on your "safe"
list so we don't get caught in your spam blocker. If you don't have access
to email, you must notify us in order to continue to receive notices via
"snail mail." Call 831-338-9831 or drop a card to 14772 Bear Creek Road,
Boulder Creek, CA 95006 in order to continue to receive your notices via the
postal service.
Looking forward to seeing you soon!
